Simon Says is a hard hitting band from Sacramento California. They have been together for four years, playing all over the Western United States since 1993. They combine dynamic hard edged music with soft melody and intricate starts and stops. Finding their own way through the crowded scene of hard-core and emo-core, or emotional core as some describe it, Simon Says projects a sound of their own and standard balance of musical energy and fun. They are all between the ages of nineteen and twenty one years of age. They have developed a regional following all over the Western United States including such areas as Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and their home state of California. Touring has become nature to Simon Says as they are constantly trying to balance school, work and their everlasting devotion to music.
Unlike a lot of heavy sounding bands, Simon Says are not your typical "head banger" rockers. All members of the band are drug and alcohol free. When you think of Simon Says some names may come to mind; such as Quick Sand (Island), Orange 9mm (Atlantic), Failure (Slash/WB), Faith No More (Slash/WB) and Helmet (Interscope). Simon Says is dedicated to bringing in its audience by way of intamate live shows and exciting energy. Simon Says has been headlining venues and selling out all age shows all over. They have also acquired some major backing and endorsements by companies such as ESP Guitars, G&L Bass Guitars, Dean Markely Strings, Purecussion Drums and Rims, Umbro USA and Mapex Drums.
After releasing a few small demos Simon Says has recorded and released two full length albums. The first entitle "Little Boy" released in 1995. Produced by Eric Broyhill who's credits include Far, Deftones, Mother Hips and Kai Lln. "Little Boy", only released on cassette, sold over 4,000 copies in its first year! After touring heavily on their first record, Simon Says decided to go back in the studio and record their second album "Perfect Example". Produced by Wes Sharon who's credits include Scott Wieland (Atlantic), Remi Zero (Geffen) and Puller (Tooth & Nail). Released on CD, "Perfect Example"has sold over 1,000 copies in the four months since it's release.
Simon Says has aspirations to be signed by a major label. They would like the opportunity to make a living out of what many people call a hobby. They understand the work ahead of them, but with a strong work ethic and support from their fans they will succeed. Simon Says is in it for the music first. They remind themselves constantly to have fun with what they love, and God willing their goals will be achieved.
