Simon Says is a hard hitting band from Sacramento California. They
have been together for four years, playing all over the Western United
States since 1993. They combine dynamic hard edged music with soft
melody and intricate starts and stops. Finding their own way through the
crowded scene of hard-core and emo-core, or emotional core as some
describe it, Simon Says projects a sound of their own and standard
balance of musical energy and fun. They are all between the ages of
nineteen and twenty one years of age. They have developed a regional
following all over the Western United States including such areas as
Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and their home state of
California. Touring has become nature to Simon Says as they are
constantly trying to balance school, work and their everlasting devotion
to music.
Unlike a lot of heavy sounding bands, Simon Says are not your
typical "head banger" rockers. All members of the band are drug and
alcohol free. When you think of Simon Says some names may come to
mind; such as Quick Sand (Island), Orange 9mm (Atlantic), Failure
(Slash/WB), Faith No More (Slash/WB) and Helmet (Interscope). Simon
Says is dedicated to bringing in its audience by way of intamate live
shows and exciting energy. Simon Says has been headlining venues and
selling out all age shows all over. They have also acquired some major
backing and endorsements by companies such as ESP Guitars, G&L
Bass Guitars, Dean Markely Strings, Purecussion Drums and Rims,
Umbro USA and Mapex Drums.
After releasing a few small demos Simon Says has recorded and
released two full length albums. The first entitle "Little Boy" released in
1995. Produced by Eric Broyhill who's credits include Far, Deftones,
Mother Hips and Kai Lln. "Little Boy", only released on cassette, sold
over 4,000 copies in its first year! After touring heavily on their first
record, Simon Says decided to go back in the studio and record their
second album "Perfect Example". Produced by Wes Sharon who's
credits include Scott Wieland (Atlantic), Remi Zero (Geffen) and Puller
(Tooth & Nail). Released on CD, "Perfect Example"has sold over
1,000 copies in the four months since it's release.
Simon Says has aspirations to be signed by a major label. They would
like the opportunity to make a living out of what many people call a
hobby. They understand the work ahead of them, but with a strong work
ethic and support from their fans they will succeed. Simon Says is in it
for the music first. They remind themselves constantly to have fun with
what they love, and God willing their goals will be achieved.
